Vegetable wax? Let's Look at This Wax a Little Closer
Oh WOW, I could have had a veggie candle!
Vegetable wax as a candle wax is usually a blend of natural waxes such as soy, palm oil wax, and other natural oils and waxes. Why blend the waxes? Chandler's are an experimental lot.
Soy is a soft wax and works best when poured into containers. So when a candle maker wants to make a pillar candle and still use all natural waxes. He blends the soy or whatever other the other natural waxes he or she can find.
And manufactures of candle wax are more than happy to make and blend vegetable oil wax with soy to make a sturdier candle for a beautiful natural wax pillar.
So whenever you see 100% vegetable wax, or 100% Soy-Veggie Blend it's good and still has that low soot characteristic. It is healthy non-toxic blend of natural candle waxes.
If the candle is advertised as 100% Vegetable and OTHER waxes. That "other waxes" they are talking about are probably paraffin based and not good for you and your family.
The candles I have used for years are a soy/veggie mix that is made up of 100% all natural waxes. And no paraffin. There are many candle makers who make all natural wax candles.
Make Sure You Know What Your Getting It's Important
Just be careful and ask questions. If they are not willing to tell you what they are made of, look elsewhere.
It is safe to say, if you hit the discount stores, drug stores and supermarkets. Chances are pretty good you're going to end up with an imported candle.
And that's not good. Companies overseas are not under the same scrutiny as the manufactures do here in the US, Canada or Australia.
The Cheap Store Candle Are Simply Not Good For You!
China is notorious for sending shoddy goods here to the US. And that's not good for something you burn inside your home.
Not good for you, your health, because it is probable made with toxic waxes, toxic coloring dyes, toxic wicks and maybe even toxic scenting oils.
Vegetable waxes are also used as with all of the natural waxes in the manufacturing of cosmetics, lotions, soaps and balms.
